Eventful & Tragic
Hello, all.
As I write this, it's been three months since my last post. That's a long time, I know, and believe me, it's been eventful and tragic.
As some of you already know, in June I took over ownership of Bald Man Games. The shop is now known as Greathammer Games, and my goal is to continue offering the games, gaming supplies, and available space for gaming that Tony had offered, and I've set things in motion to increase product and in-store traffic.
Having a game store in Independence County is important to me, and something I am going to try very hard to improve upon at every opportunity. Thank you to everyone who continues to give the shop patronage.
That explains quite a bit of the "eventful," and tells why I've not been posting in the past three months, and now onto the tragic....
Recently, we lost a regular fixture to the gaming community. His name was Jeremy Wood, and he passed away after injuries sustained training to be an amateur wrestler, which is something he enjoyed and was passionate about, which makes it all the more tragic when coupled with some of the circumstances (which I won't go into here.)
I'm not going to pad this with emotion or false niceties. In truth, most of us were just acquaintances to Jeremy, and not true friends, but he has been in our thoughts, and he will be missed. No one deserves to have their life taken from them in such a way. I, and everyone at Greathammer Games extend our condolences to his family and friends at this time.
In addition to losing Jeremy, a close friend of mine passed recently as a result of a car accident, and another friend had supposedly died to the same circumstances, but the latter was a joke in terrible taste.
Needless to say, stress and worry have been in great abundance here.
You'll hear more from me in the future, though, so keep checking in!
